“四川老师”“国际互助网”联手为灾区儿童服务

　　重庆江津市林田村希望小学地处山区，是江津先锋镇的一所完全小学，距市中区33余公里。现下辖5所村小，学生600余人。学生的英语水平只能算是入门级，由于没有专业的英语老师，所以孩子的水平也差，希望能来一个懂汉语，有耐心的老师帮他们一下，激发他们的英语兴趣。

外籍英文志愿者：

1、外籍志愿者或外籍在华大学生，需要对汉语有一定了解，英语国家人员最佳；

2、对教育、公益事业有热忱，有支教、公益服务经验优先考虑；

3、能吃苦耐劳，配合学校各项工作

　　伙食：

　　每天的伙食由学校负责安排，一般是在校内食堂解决（志愿者如有特殊要求需提前提出，至于标准就不做统一规定了，质量方面学校会尽力保证的）

　　交通费用：

　　志愿者来华，到学校及返回的交通费用由志愿者自付，学校一般要负责到当地车站接站，并对志愿者在当地预定和购买返程车票提供帮助。

　　课余时间：

　　志愿者如果想外出到学校所在的县(区)以外的地区或其它城市的时候,一定要得到学校及相关老师的允许.志愿者如要离开校园外出，也要让学校的相关负责老师知到。

　　安全问题：

　　学校可适当的带领志愿者到当地有特色的地方或老师同学家作客，了解当地的风土人情，这个活动的安全问题由学校负责；超出以上的外出和出游，费用由志愿者自负；如需学校派人陪同，陪同者的所有费用也由志愿者负担，安全问题由志愿者个人承担（尽量不建议做学校安排以外的出游）

　　时间：

　　一般是6-8周或以上，最好在每年3月---5月，9月---12月期间。具体支教时间要视具体情况在支教行为开始前由双方商定好；

　　住宿条件：　

　　提供单人宿舍及基本生活用品，要保证良好的卫生条件，因条件所限，可以是公共卫生间及公共浴室；在校内（但不保证在宿舍内）可以上网

　　教学：

　　志愿者要有一个支教的教学计划及文化交流的计划，以便能达到支援学校教学，开阔学生眼界的目的。

　　护照和签证问题：

　　如有需学校在当地帮助办理的，所发生一切费用志愿者自付，且要在支教行为开始前说明，请学校选择。

　　对于未提到的事项，由志愿者与学校两方协调沟通。

Xiwang Primary School, located in Chongqing’s Lintian village, is a full primary school approximately 33 kilometers from the city. The school has 5 subordinate schools in the village, consisting of more than 600 students. The students’ English is at the beginner level due to the lack of professional English teachers. The ideal teacher would understand some Chinese, has the patience to help the students, and arouse the students’ interest in English.

Foreign National Volunteer English Teacher:

1.      Foreign national volunteers or foreign nationals who are university students in China; Nationals from English-speaking countries preferred. Some understanding of Chinese is required.

2.      Passionate towards education and public service; experience in education and public service preferred.

3.      Hardworking and cooperative of various school projects.

Room and Board:

The school will provide meals, usually in the school’s cafeteria (volunteers with special needs must request in advance; standards may not be same across the board, but the school will strive to ensure quality)

The school will provide a single dormitory room and basic daily utilities and ensure good hygiene standards. Due to limited conditions, bathrooms and showers may be shared. Internet access is available within the school (but not necessarily within the dormitory).

Transportation cost:

Volunteers are responsible for their own transportation to and from China; the school usually arranges for pick-ups at the local bus or train terminal and will provide help to volunteers with purchasing return bus or train tickets.

Extracurricular time:

Volunteers wishing to travel outside of the town where the school is located or to another city must first obtain the relevant teacher’s permission. Volunteers who leave the school’s vicinity must also notify the responsible teacher.

Safety:  

The school can take volunteers to see local attractions and visit students’ homes as a means of understanding the local culture. The school will be responsible for the safety of such activities. Outside of the aforementioned activities, volunteers will be responsible for their own costs and expenses. Volunteers will also be responsible for the costs of any companions that the school delegates, if the school chooses to delegate such companions. Volunteers will be responsible for their own safety in these activities. The school does not recommend travels other than those arranged by the school.

Duration:

6 – 8 weeks. We expect volunteers to teach some time between March and May or between September and December. But if you are not available during those periods and want to find some other time, you are also welcome to contact us and we can try to work out an appropriate time. specific teaching times shall be agreed upon between the school and the volunteer prior to the start of teaching.

Teaching:

Volunteers must draft a teaching plan and cultural exchange plan in order to support the school’s education and enrich students’ experiences.

Passport and visa:

Volunteers are responsible for all passport and visa expenses, including those incurred by the school in helping volunteers with the process.

Any issues not mentioned above shall be discussed between the volunteer and the school.
